911 Dispatcher

Coles - Moultrie County 9-1-1 is a 9-1-1 Communications center for Coles-Moultrie Counties. All employees are call takers and dispatchers for all calls: Emergency 9-1-1, non-emergency, radio traffic, for Police, Fire and EMS for Coles County and 9-1-1 calls for Moultrie County. You will have a 90-day training period. Further benefits and job requirements will be discussed in the orientation.

Starting hourly rate: $17.04hr., Dec 1, 2021, $17.84hr, Dec 1, 2022 18.64. On top of the previously mentioned salary increases: When you reach 1 year you receive a 1% raise and every 2 years thereafter you will receive a 2% raise on your anniversary date for the duration of this current union contract.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • US citizenship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma/GED
  • No Felony convictions
  • Must reside within 30 miles of the Coles County limits
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a stressful environment
  • Must be able to work all 3 shift (once complete with training you will shift bid for 4 months at a time) weekends, holidays at times. Shifts are 8-hour shift, 5 days worked, 2 days off

Coles County Building Custodian

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Performs daily custodial operations in the County Courthouse, Working hours 1:30pm to 9:30 pm Monday through Friday. The open position will be responsible for daily cleaning after the closing of business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (EXAMPLES OF WORK)

  • Clean offices and public areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and disposing of trash.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and fixtures as required.
  • Change light bulbs.
  • Snow removal
  • Perform work independently.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to safely move 60 lbs.
Must be able to safely operate custodial power equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally, including giving and receiving instructions.
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
Must pass medical and criminal background check furnished by the department.
Must be able to read, understand and perform mathematical calculations to safely operate equipment and use cleaning chemicals.
Must be punctual and dependable for work shifts assigned.

Coles County Custodian

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Performs daily maintenance and custodial operations in County Courthouse and other County buildings, Working hours 5:00am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (EXAMPLES OF WORK)

  • Check all HVAC in Jail, Courthouse, and other assigned buildings for routine and preventative maintenance including changing filters periodically.
  • Clean offices and public areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and disposing of trash.
  • Perform woodworking and light building maintenance at County facilities.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and fixtures as required.
  • Change light bulbs and ballast.
  • Maintain door locks at County buildings.
  • Maintain lawn and sidewalks per season
  • Perform light carpentry duties.
  • Perform work independently.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to safely move 60 lbs.
Must be able to safely operate custodial power equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally, including giving and receiving instructions.

Certified Law Enforcement Offices/Deputies & Correctional Officers

The Coles County Sheriff Office is accepting application for Certified Law Enforcement Offices/Deputies and Correctional Officers. Starting salary for Certified Law Enforcement is $44,891 and starting salary for Correctional Officer is $40,167. To be certified an applicant must require no additional mandatory training before taking the appointment. Interested candidates can completed an application and provide copies of certification for review. Telecommunications Position

The Coles County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for Telecommunication position. This position is a union position and works inside the Jail on a 8 hour shift rotation. The starting salary for this position is $26,812.66. Ideal applicant must possess the ability to multitask, use radio, ability to use computers to include data entry, and light filing. Retirement is through IMRF with different health insurance options. 80 hours of vacation after one (1) year of service, three (3) personal days, and 8 hours of accrued sick leave per month.
