9-1-1 Dispatcher

Coles - Moultrie County 9-1-1 is currently seeking those interested in full time employment as a 9-1-1 dispatcher.

Coles - Moultrie County 9-1-1 is a 9-1-1 Communications center for Coles-Moultrie Counties. All employees are call takers and dispatchers for all calls: Emergency 9-1-1, non-emergency, radio traffic, for Police, Fire and EMS for Coles County and 9-1-1 calls for Moultrie County. Must be available to work all three shifts and any mandatory overtime. All employees begin training as a part time employee at $11.88 an hour for the 1st 90 days of employment (training period). When training is completed a Full time position will be offered to you at 12.88 an hour. Further benefits and job requirements will be discussed in the orientation.

Starting hourly rate: $12.88 hr. (0-1 year), $ 13.01 (1-2 year), $13.53 (2 year)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • US citizenship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma/GED
  • No Felony convictions
  • Must reside within 30 miles of the Coles County limits
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a stressful environment
  • Must be able to work all 3 shift (will not be scheduled all 3 in a work week) weekends, holidays at times.

Certified Law Enforcement Offices/Deputies & Certified Correctional Officers

The Coles County Sheriff Office is accepting application for Certified Law Enforcement Offices/Deputies and Certified Correctional Officers. Starting salary for Certified Law Enforcement is $44,891 and starting salary for Certified Correctional Officer is $40,167. To be certified an applicant must require no additional mandatory training before taking the appointment. Interested candidates can completed an application and provide copies of certification for review. WIC/FCM RN

Coles County Health Department has an immediate opening for a full time RN in WIC/FCM Program. 8:30am-4:30pm M-F. No weekends, midnights, or scheduled on-call.

Telecommunications Position

The Coles County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for Telecommunication position. This position is a union position and works inside the Jail on a 8 hour shift rotation. The starting salary for this position is $23,339. Ideal applicant must possess the ability to multitask, use radio, ability to use computers to include data entry, and light filing. Retirement is through IMRF with different health insurance options. 80 hours of vacation after one (1) year of service, three (3) personal days, and 8 hours of accrued sick leave per month.
