 Inheritance/Estate tax is collected locally in Illinois by each County Treasurer. Money collected is sent to the Illinois State Comptroller each month.

During June 2004 to July 2005, Coles County collected $768,644.70 in inheritance/estate taxes. Of that figure, $44,801.46 was returned to Coles County.
